AMT Financial Consultants, Inc. is a consulting firm dedicated to addressing the financial issues faced by its clients. Established in 1990 and located in the Dallas - Fort Worth metroplex of Texas, the firm develops business solutions through financial analysis, management and training.

Our Team

Bill Moss - Lead Consultant

For over 28 years, Mr. Moss has served in various finance and accounting roles ranging from Chief Financial Officer to internal auditor. His CFO and similar financial executive positions, on a full-time, part-time and interim basis included companies in financial services, manufacturing sectors and for non-profit organizations. Companies ranged in size from Fortune 500 public companies to privately owned companies with as few as 10 employees. In these positions, he addressed issues including but not limited to accounting systems and processes, financial reporting, risk management, human resources and IT systems and more recently Section 404 Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls evaluation, design, implementation and testing.

Prior to offering CFO services as well as internal audit and internal assurance services, Mr. Moss was an internal auditor in a large bank holding company based in Florida. After serving five year as an internal auditor, he joined Deloitte, as an auditor. As audit manager, Mr. Moss has lead teams providing audit and other attestation, services to clients such as banks, savings & loans, insurance companies, real estate companies, utilities, manufacturing, and retail businesses.

Mr. Moss received his BBA at the Florida Atlantic University. In 1977, he became licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Florida and maintains an active license in good standing in Texas. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and a past member of the Non-Profit Conference Committee. As a nationally known speaker for the AICPA, he has made presentations on addressing the Controllership function, internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley rules and regulations.

He is also a member of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and sits on the Business and Industry Issues Committee. He just recently rotated off the Texas Society Insurance Trust after serving sixteen years, of which ten were as managing Trustee.

Frank Adams - Associate Consultant and Instructor

With wide-ranging business experience in addition to experience as an educator in academia and professional development, Dr. A. Frank Adams, III is uniquely qualified to conduct AMTís courses. His business experience includes working in a privately held business for 10 years with several years serving as CFO. Furthermore, Dr. Adams has provided consulting services focused on valuation issues, succession planning, and corporate governance in privately held companies. Most recently, he has served as an expert witness utilizing his financial and statistical skills in various litigation cases, including those that involve business damages.

In 2000 Dr. Adams, joined the Michael J. Coles College of Business as a member of the graduate faculty teaching economics and finance in Kennesaw State Universityís Executive MBA Programs. On July 1, 2004, he joined the faculty in the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship and was appointed as the first holder of the Aronoff Professorship in Family Business in the Cox Family Enterprise Center at the Coles College. Additionally, Dr. Adams is the Director of Research for the Cox Family Enterprise Center, overseeing the Centerís newest research program in family business finance.

Widely published, Professor Adamsí research efforts have focused on the economics of regulation, valuation and family business finance. Refereed publication venues include the Review of Industrial Organization, Contemporary Economic Policy, Journal of Labor Research, Atlantic Economic Journal, Southern Economic Journal, Journal of Forensic Economics and Family Business Review.

Dr. Adams has received numerous recognitions and awards for his teaching and research. In 2002 he was recognized by the Coles College of Business for his research and received the Outstanding Scholar Award. An instructor for the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA) since 2001, he has taught economics and statistics in their Certified Forensic Financial Analyst (CFFA) program and has been recognized, in 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004 as an Instructor of Exceptional and/or Great Distinction. In addition, he served on NACVAís Executive Advisory Board from 2004 to 2005 and presently serves on their Valuation Education & Credentialing Board.

John A. Harris - Associate Instructor

John A. Harris has been conducting finance and accounting education programs since 1995. In addition to teaching college courses as an adjunct professor, he has conducted numerous accounting programs for financial institutions and associations.

Mr. Harris has lectured for Boston University, Credit Suisse First Boston, the Dallas Society of Financial Analysts, the Dallas Morning News, the Financial Analysts Society of South Africa, Guaranty Bank, the Houston Society of Financial Analysts, the Italian Society of Investment Professionals, Excel Exam Review, Lehman Brothers, the Netherlands Society of Investment Professionals, Northern Trust, the Swiss Society of Investment Professionals, Texas Christian University, the United Kingdom Society of Investment Professionals, and the University of Texas at Arlington Center for Professional Development.

In addition to his teaching experience, Mr. Harris has more than 20 years of experience in credit and financial management, with particular emphasis in the areas of commercial loan valuation and asset recovery. He served as Senior Credit Officer in a subsidiary of Bank One for five years. Prior to his tenure in the financial institution industry, he served ten years in various credit positions in the oil and gas industry.

Mr. Harris earned both an MBA (Real Estate) and MS (Accounting) from the University of North Texas and a BBA (Finance) from Texas Tech University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA Institute).

David P. Higgins - Associate Instructor

David P. Higgins is the originator and academic program director of the Corporate Finance MBA Program at the University of Dallas, where he has served on the faculty since 1986. He teaches financial policy, treasury management, financial forecasting, and general financial management. He is a recipient of University of Dallasí Presidential Award, the Douglas Foundation Award for Entrepreneurship in an Academic Setting, and has been named a King-Haggar Scholar.

In addition to the academic courses he has developed, Dr. Higgins conducts executive education courses that address interpretation of financial statements, tools of financial analysis, cash and working capital management, analysis of capital investments, sales forecasting, creating a financial business plan, the correct measurement of value, the principles of value creation, the relationship between business and financial strategy, and the development and maintenance of sustainable competitive advantage.

Dr. Higgins has published in several academic journals and has made presentations at the Applied Business Research Conference, the Association for Financial Professionals, the American College of Healthcare Executives, and the Gerontological Society of America.

Dr. Higgins is a member of the Financial Management Association and the Southwest Finance Association. He is a director of the Dallas Association for Financial Professionals and a past Director of the Dallas chapter of the Financial Executives Institute. He holds the Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) credential awarded by the national Association for Financial Professionals and is the director of the cooperative education program between that organization and the University of Dallas.

Dr. Higgins earned his Ph.D. in financial management and investments from the University of Texas at Austin. He earned his MBA from the University of Arizona, and his A.B. from Rutgers University.

Don N. High - Associate Instructor

Don N. High is a small business owner and attorney. As a business owner, he established and currently operates a marketing company that promotes business interests and ventures competing in the healthcare and legal services industries. As an attorney, Mr.High is a solo-practitioner in Dallas, Texas, serving both plaintiffs and defendants in business litigation cases.

In the mid 1980's, Mr. High served as a tax accountant with Price Waterhouse in their New York City office. He has also worked with the Wall Street firm Milbank, Tweed, Hadley, and McCloy assisting with various mergers and acquisitions and the issuance of secured bond indentures.

After returning to Texas, Mr. High has served as an Assistant District Attorney prosecuting criminal cases in numerous Texas counties. As an attorney in private practice since 1994, he has handled cases spanning the legal spectrum including bankruptcy, probate, divorce, real estate issues, mental health, child custody, complex civil and criminal litigation and even death penalty cases. He currently serves as the municipal prosecutor for the City of Wylie, Texas, and has done so for eleven years.

Mr. High graduated from Baylor University in 1982 with a BBA in Accounting and Finance and from Baylor Law School in 1985 as a Juris Doctor. He is licensed to practice law in Texas and New York, and is Board Certified in Criminal Law.
